The following is a guide that should help many people manage their weight and physical health.

  • You are responsible for your lifestyle.
  • Measurement will tell you what works and what doesn't.
  • You already know what is good for you: healthy diet and reasonable exercise.
  • Anything extreme is probably not good.
  • Moderation is generally good.
  • What you need

  • Decide that you will do what you need to do in order to reach your goal.
  • Set a reasonable goal.
  • If your goal appears unattainable, set intermediate goals in addition to your desired ultimate goal.
  • A means to measure your progress.
  • Get rid of any excuses.
  • Get rid of any psychological crutches.
  • Decide that you will do what you need to do in order to reach your goal.

  • Buy a nice scale that measures in small increments.
  • Weigh yourself before you go to bed at night and before you eat breakfast in the morning.
  • Eat three meals each day (at least).
  • Exercise.
  • Sleep when you should sleep.
  • Avoid stuff that you know is bad for you.
  • See what your current habit does for your weight.
  • Modify what you eat.
  • See what your modified habit does for your weight.
