At a high level, the PIB application test intends to prove that:
The functionality, delivered by the development team, is as specified in the Vision and the Use-case Specifications Documentation.
The software is of high quality; the software will support the intended business functions and achieves the standards required by Palm for the development of new PalmOS applications.
The software delivered interfaces correctly with the PalmOs and the specified projector types.
The above V Model shows the optimum testing process, where test preparation commences as soon as the Requirements Definition is produced. Since Test Planning starts at an early stage, the Software will benefit from Quality initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
The responsibility for testing between the Project & Software Quality Assurance is as follows:
Unit Testing is the responsibility of the Development Team.
Integration, Regression, System, and System Integration Testing are the responsibility of the Testing Team.
User Acceptance is the responsibility of the Project Manager (Product).
Technology Compliance Testing is the responsibility of the System Analyst.
